The MitoPRO 1500X is MitoRed Light's feature-packed full-body panel: six wavelengths, dual-chip LEDs, a touchscreen and app control. I put it through the same independent lab tests as the 10 other panels in my 2026 panel comparison.
It finished 7th of 11 with 43.5 points, one point behind its simpler sibling, the MitoPRO 1500+ v2. Below, you'll find the lab's own measurements, including a heat map of its light, its spectrum and its output over a full session, plus how it compares with the 1500+ v2 and its rivals.
🏆 Quick Answer: Is the MitoRed Light MitoPRO 1500X Worth It?
Score: 43.5 out of 100, 7th of 11 in my 2026 panel test.
The 1500X is tall, slim and steady, with the touchscreen, app and adjustable intensity that the 1500+ v2 lacks. But at 10 inches wide, it covered less of my test area than any other panel, and its light leans towards near-infrared (41.8% red).
- Best for: people who want MitoRed Light's touchscreen and app controls in a tall, slim panel.
- Not ideal for: anyone who wants the most light for the money: the cheaper MitoPRO 1500+ v2 scored higher.
- Price when tested: $1,335 delivered to Austin, Texas, after the 5% discount through my link, with shipping and tax included.
- Stronger choices: the MitoPRO 1500+ v2 (6th, 44.5 points, $1,265) for less, or the PlatinumLED BioMax Pro Ultra (1st, 63.25 points, $1,610) for much more light and control.

The 1500+ v2 puts more light into my test area, more of it red, and holds it steadier, for $70 less. The 1500X adds a touchscreen, app control and adjustable intensity, and it's taller and narrower.
How I Tested the MitoRed Light MitoPRO 1500X
The 1500X went through exactly the same process as all 11 panels in my 2026 panel comparison, so its scores sit directly beside theirs.
- Independent lab measurements. LightLab International, a photometric lab in Allentown, Pennsylvania, ran three tests in September 2026: total light output and spectrum in a 2-metre integrating sphere, output over 20 minutes, and an irradiance map at 12 inches measured every 2 inches (test report LLIA003081-003).
- Why 12 inches. I now test at 12 inches rather than 6, because readings taken close to the LEDs overstate how evenly a panel treats your body. Here's why.
- Nine scored rounds, 100 points. Coverage (35), average irradiance (5), uniformity (10), output stability (5), wavelengths (5), red-to-near-infrared balance (5), ease of use (15), extras such as warranty, returns, certifications, noise and expandability (10), and price (10).
Each brand, including MitoRed Light, paid LightLab for its own panel’s testing and provided its panel free of charge. The 1500X's scores use exactly the same lab data and scoring as every other panel.

Lab Results: How the MitoRed Light MitoPRO 1500X Performed
Coverage and Power at 12 Inches
Across the standard 24 × 30 in treatment area, the 1500X averaged 25.6 mW/cm² (=8th of 11 for average irradiance), and 39.1% of the area got at least 30 mW/cm² (11th for coverage).

The heat map shows why: a tall strip about as wide as the 10-inch panel. It's the narrowest strong zone in the test, so across a full 24 × 60 in body area it averaged 17.8 mW/cm².
Here's how the light holds up as the treatment area grows:
| Area at 12 in | Average (mW/cm²) | Lowest (mW/cm²) | Area at 30+ mW/cm² | Variation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Face (6 × 10 in) | 55.2 | 53.0 | 100% | 5.4% |
| Test area (24 × 30 in) | 25.6 | 0.8 | 39.1% | 93.3% |
| Full body (24 × 60 in) | 17.8 | 0.1 | 25% | 123.6% |

Evenness
Overall uniformity (average ÷ peak across the 24 × 30 in area) was 39.8%, 10th of 11. Over a face-sized area at the centre, the light ranged from 53.0 to 62.4 mW/cm², varying by 5.4%. Within its strip the light is consistent, which suits face and targeted sessions.
Output Over a Session
After 20 minutes the 1500X still delivered 94.2% of its starting output, =6th of 11 for stability (4.75 of 5 points). Red held at 92.0% and near-infrared at 96.7%.

As the LEDs warmed up, the peaks moved slightly longer, by up to 7 nm:
| Peak | After 30 sec | After 14.5 min | After 19.5 min |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | 631 nm | 635 nm | 635 nm |
| Red | 659 nm | 663 nm | 663 nm |
| Near-infrared | 810 nm | 816 nm | 816 nm |
| Near-infrared | 829 nm | 835 nm | 836 nm |
Wavelengths
The lab found peaks at 635, 663, 817 and 836 nm. All five of my core wavelengths (630, 660, 810, 830 and 850 nm) cleared the 0.5 W/nm bar, which earns 4 points, a score shared with six other panels. No panel cleared the bar for the two bonus wavelengths, 590 and 1064 nm.
| Wavelength | Measured (W/nm) | Counts in My Test? |
|---|---|---|
| 590 nm (bonus) | 0.025 | ✗ No |
| 630 nm | 1.144 | ✓ Yes |
| 660 nm | 1.317 | ✓ Yes |
| 810 nm | 1.253 | ✓ Yes |
| 830 nm | 1.481 | ✓ Yes |
| 850 nm | 0.916 | ✓ Yes |
| 1064 nm (bonus) | 0.000 | ✗ No |

Its 590 nm amber LEDs reached just 0.02 W/nm, far below the bonus threshold, and there's no 1060 nm output.
Red vs. Near-Infrared Balance
41.8% of the 1500X's light is red (600–780 nm) and 58.2% near-infrared (780–1100 nm). It earned 4.25 of 5 points, tied 7th of 11: not far off an even split, but leaning towards near-infrared, which reaches deeper tissue. Red is the range most studied for skin, and the touchscreen lets you adjust red and near-infrared intensity.

The lab's breakdown of where the light goes:
| Waveband | Light Output | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Red (600–700 nm) | 62.65 W | 38.9% |
| Deep red (700–780 nm) | 4.40 W | 2.7% |
| Near-infrared (780–900 nm) | 93.05 W | 57.8% |
| Deep near-infrared (900–1100 nm) | 0.35 W | 0.2% |
| Total light output | 161.11 W | 100% |

Using the MitoRed Light MitoPRO 1500X
It scored 7 of 15 for ease of use (=7th): full marks for the manual and support (live chat and a phone line), 2 of 3 for customisation and 1 for stands, but no physical remote and no built-in smart modes.
- Touchscreen to adjust intensity, session time and wavelengths
- Bluetooth app with remote control, session history, feedback tracking and extra modes such as NIR Extend and Interval
- Alarm function
- Stands sold separately: a floor stand for single panels, or a universal stand for arrays
- Multi-panel arrays sold as bundles

A Starting Protocol
These starting points are based on what the research suggests for skin and on the lab's measurements at 12 inches.
- Face and skin: aim for about 5–9 J/cm². At 12 inches the 1500X delivers about 55 mW/cm² over the face with every wavelength on, so that dose takes roughly 1.5 to 2.7 minutes.
- Joints, muscles and recovery: 5–10 minutes per area at 12 inches. My dosing chart shows the ranges studies have used.
- Eyes: wear eye protection. Near-infrared is invisible, and these panels are bright. More in my eye safety guide.
Price, Shipping, Warranty and Returns
I priced every panel the same way: delivered to Austin, Texas, after my discount code or link, with shipping and tax included. On that basis the 1500X cost $1,335 at the time of filming and scored 7.25 of 10 for price (3rd of 11).
- Discount: my MitoRed Light link takes 5% off (already counted in the $1,335). MitoRed Light's own early Black Friday sale was running when I checked on 7 November, so check today's price.
- Shipping: free in the US, and the panel is HSA/FSA eligible.
- Warranty: 3 years, scoring 1 of 3.
- Returns: a 60-day trial, scoring 2 of 3.
Overall it scored 6.5 of 10 for extras, tied 2nd: 1 of 1 for expandability, 2 of 2 for certification evidence, 1 of 3 for warranty, 2 of 3 for returns and 0.5 of 1 for noise (40–50 dB).

⭐ My Reviews ⭐
MitoRed Light MitoPRO 1500X FAQ
Is the MitoPRO 1500X worth it?
Only if you specifically want its touchscreen and app. It placed 7th of 11 in my 2026 lab test, a point behind the cheaper MitoPRO 1500+ v2, and covered less of the test area than any other panel.
Should I buy the MitoPRO 1500X or the 1500+ v2?
For most people, the 1500+ v2: it scored higher, delivered more light in my test area with more red, held steadier and costs $70 less. Choose the 1500X for the touchscreen, app and adjustable intensity.
Is the MitoPRO 1500X good for skin?
It works, though only 41.8% of its light is red. For the face at 12 inches it delivers about 55 mW/cm², so a 5–9 J/cm² dose takes roughly 1½ to 2¾ minutes with everything on. Turning up red or down near-infrared on the touchscreen gives a redder session.
What does the app do?
It works as a remote over Bluetooth, tracks your session history and feedback, and unlocks extra modes such as NIR Extend and Interval.
Does it come with a stand or remote?
Neither. Stands are sold separately, and the app replaces a physical remote.
What's the warranty and return policy?
Three years, with a 60-day trial and free US shipping.
Is there a MitoRed Light discount?
Yes. My link takes 5% off sitewide. See my discount codes page for other brands.
Final Thoughts
The MitoPRO 1500X brings modern controls to MitoRed Light's full-body range: a touchscreen, an app and adjustable intensity, with steady output and every core wavelength covered.
But its slim, 10-inch-wide design delivered the least coverage in my test, and its simpler sibling scored higher for less money. Unless the touchscreen and app matter to you, the 1500+ v2 is the better buy.
Score: 43.5 out of 100, 7th of 11 in my 2026 panel test.
- Buy the MitoPRO 1500X if you want touchscreen and app control in a tall, slim panel: check the MitoPRO 1500X price (5% off through my link).
- For more light, the PlatinumLED BioMax Pro Ultra won the 2026 test, and the link takes 5% off.
